Brohnsonn provided full structural engineering services for the project, supporting the delivery of a high quality, architecturally led development from concept design through to detailed design and construction-phase support.
A key element of Brohnsonn’s role was leading the architectural engineering of the exposed timber roof structures throughout the development. These roof forms were central to the architectural vision and demanded a refined balance between structural performance, buildability, and visual excellence.
Particular emphasis was placed on the design and detailing of concealed plated joints, enabling all structural and connection requirements to be resolved without compromising the clean, uninterrupted appearance of the exposed timber. Each connection was carefully engineered to ensure durability, constructability, and long term performance, while remaining visually unobtrusive.
This integrated approach resulted in robust and efficient timber roof structures that successfully deliver both the architectural intent and the required structural integrity
The Four Seasons Resort on Desroches is a transformational upgrade and expansion of the existing luxury hotel, elevating the resort from 20 to 60 keys. The development includes extensive renovation and carefully designed extensions to the public areas, enhancing the guest experience while preserving the unique character and exclusivity of the island setting.
